Activities
On December 10, 2021 a tornado came through Mayfield causing much damage and destruction. This unit moved from Mullins, South Carolina in March of 2022
At first, most of the work was roofing and other misc projects until we got started with Mennonite Disaster Service and Homes & Hope of Kentucky
Our work consists of building new homes, putting in foundations, framing and siding. We also install cabinets, woodwork and floors as well as painting interior and exterior. The house Papa coordinates all the subcontractors, orders materials, and works with the young men. Each home has a dedication, which CPS oversees. The homeowner is presented with the key and a certificate of occupancy.
There are 2 congregations (Harmony & Mt Pleasant) within 30 minutes so there is interaction with each of them
We also volunteer at a local soup kitchen and food pantry
